Joining a fraternity is an excellent way to build lifelong friendships, gain leadership experience, participate in philanthropic service, and experience networking opportunities that will connect you with members both nationally and internationally. By joining a fraternity you will participate in a unique experience that will assist you in your growth spiritually, academically and socially.

Unrecognized Fraternities and Sororities

 

Pi Kappa Alpha

 

 

Pi Kappa Alpha (referred to as Pika or Pike) is NOT a recognized University Fraternity.  Although this group continues to organize and recruit new membership, all of its functions are conducted without advice, support, or regulation from Saint Joseph’s University.

 

As an unrecognized group, Saint Joseph’s University does not advise, regulate, support, or control any aspects of these groups; including but not limited to:

  1. Anti-Hazing and Risk Management Policies
  2. New Member and Pledging Requirements
  3. Requirements of Liability Insurance
  4. Philanthropic and Community Service Requirements
  5. Minimum GPA Requirements
  6. Initiation Standards

Additionally, Saint Joseph’s University DOES NOT allow this group to:

  1. Participate in Formal Fraternity Recruitment
  2. Use Saint Joseph’s Facilities or Resources
  3. Receive an Allocated Budget
  4. Participate in Leadership Development or Career Development Training and Opportunities
  5. Host Social Functions (including parties, formals, or mixers)

Please be advised that should you choose to affiliate with these groups, you do so voluntarily, at your own risk, with full knowledge of the risks involved.
