Balanced Man Scholarship
The Pennsylvania Psi Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Saint Joseph’s University awards one scholarship each fiscal year, in the amount of $500.00, to an undergraduate student who exhibits academic excellence, demonstrates leadership skills, and shows a commitment to health and well-being.
Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded on November 1, 1901 at Richmond College, now the University of Richmond, and has thrived upon three Cardinal Principles: Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Today, SigEp is proud to have the largest number of enrolled undergraduate members, at 13,500 students in over 260 college campuses across the United States.
Similar to the Ancient Greeks, SigEp has also encompassed the tenet that a body’s good health is vital as it is the vessel of the mind. The mind houses your humanity, and therefore, exercise of the mind is just as important as exercise of the body for full maturing and development. The purpose of a human’s time on earth is to live the best, balanced life and to explore the unexamined facets that make us better men. Thus, living a life with both a Sound Mind and Sound Body was created to form the Balanced Man.
If you think you fit the standard of a Balanced Man, applications are available online at BALANCED MAN APPLICATION and should be emailed to sigepsju@gmail.com or mailed to:
