Process for Current Freshmen (rising sophomore students)
Specific dates are posted on the Housing Selection Timeline page
At the begining of the spring semester, all current freshmen (rising sophomores) will need to pay the $350 “housing deposit.” This can be done online using a credit card through “MySJU” or in-person at the Office of Residence Life, located on the first floor of LaFarge. At this point, the student will be able to complete the second step in their process to securing on-campus housing, completing the Housing Contract. The completion of this contract can also be done on-line through MySJU using an electronic signature. Please note that the housing contract is a binding contract for the entire upcoming academic year and students will not be released except for extraordinary circumstances. Finally, any rising sophomore who fails to participate in the housing selection process will be administratively placed into a housing assignment once all other students have selected housing.
Before Spring Break, students will be able to log into “MySJU” to find out their housing selection date & time, and Housing PIN number (unique number used to participate in the housing selection process). The housing selection process will take place in late March, and will be conducted via the web, much like class registration. Available housing options will very depending on the assigned housing selection date & time of your student. Current juniors will choose first, sophomores second, and then current freshman.
The first steps in the process of selecting a room for next year are:
- Current freshmen must deposit and contract for housing by posted deadline.
- Pay the $350 Non-Refundable Housing Deposit by logging-in to MYSJU
*Enrolled Freshmen who do not deposit and contract by the deadline will forfeit their priority to participate in the Housing Lottery and will be contacted to choose their housing after the lottery has taken place in March.
