Welcome to the Living Learning web site. This site showcases the options resident students at Saint Joseph's University have to strengthen their curricular learning, career preparation, spiritual development and personal growth through four levels of residence hall programming: 1) faculty-presented events; 2) academic interest housing options; 3) off-campus cultural events; and 4) Hawk Vision movies (the campus movie channel).
Regardless of how students opt to take advantage of Living Learning, the core mission of the program remains the same: to develop intellectual and personal connections between faculty, staff and administrators and students outside of the classroom and to transform students into life-long learners. For additional information, current or upcoming events and a comprehensive history of Living Learning's offerings, please refer to the tabs to the left of this message. There you will find weekly event listings under "This Week in Living Learning;" an entire program history under "Programs;" the monthly Hawk Vision movie schedule; information on academic housing (available options, application process and events); a roster of live-in faculty; and fitness center policies.
As you further explore what Living Learning is, what it offers and all that it has done, you will see the Jesuit notion of cura personalis (care of each person) is evident in the commitment Saint Joseph's faculty, staff and administrators have made to educate students through hundreds of topically relevant, intellectually stimulating, out-of-class events. This level of commitment to Living Learning and to the students who take advantage of it strengthens each year. Perhaps most noteworthy, students enjoy discovering through the faculty/staff/administrator commitment to Living Learning how to become lifelong learners. They have seen first-hand that cultivating the drive to pursue knowledge makes them self-reliant, informed and empowered.
