Rules and Regulations
- Anyone (age 18 and under) must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Sports Complex membership card must be presented at the front desk before entering the facility.
- Posted regulations governing the use of various facility areas must be followed at all times.
- It is the responsibility of the user to be aware of building regulations.
- The Sports Complex has been designated as a smoke-free facility. Your cooperation with this policy will be greatly appreciated.
- Acceptable rules of conduct must be observed at all times. Any user of the facility who engages in any disorderly conduct, including verbal or physical abuse of any employee or other user, is subject to immediate removal with loss of building privileges.
- Valuables should be stored in the locker room or in Fitness Center lockers. The Sports Complex is not responsible for any personal items which may be lost, stolen, or damaged.
- Persons using the facilities must wear gym shoes and appropriate activity attire. Normal street shoes and clothes are unacceptable. NOTE: No bare feet allowed in activity areas. Bare feet are only allowed in the pool and locker areas.
- Only authorized department personnel are permitted in the equipment and supply rooms.
- Food, drink, and chewing gum are not permitted in activity areas. We ask your assistance in maintaining a clean, healthy environment. Please deposit soda cans and food wrappers in the trash cans located throughout the lobby area of the building.
- Rollerblades, skates, and bicycles are not permitted in the building. A bike rack is provided at the northwest corner of the building.
- Solicitation of guest passes will not be permitted. Known solicitors will be denied entrance to the building.
- Posters and advertising must be approved by the Director of the Sports Complex prior to placement on facility bulletin boards.
- Injuries which occur during recreational activity must be reported immediately to the building supervisor, and an accidental injury report completed.
- Children (16 and under) are not permitted in the fitness center at any time.
- Members and guests assume all risk for personal injury. Should we deem it necessary for an injured person to receive medical assistance, we will contact appropriate medical personnel at that person's own expense.
- SJU requires the use of swim diapers and prohibits the changing of diapers in the pool deck area. Diapers should only be changed and disposed of in the locker rooms.
- SJU reserves the right to change policies.
- Guest passes are available to Sports Complex Members. The fee is $5.00 per guest, and there is a purchase limit of 2 passes per day. Passes may be obtained at the Front Desk. Guests passes are not available to complimentary membership holders. Members are required to remain in the Sports Complex while guests are in attendance.
Guest passes will no longer be issued between the hours of 2pm and 8pm on weekdays, when classes are in session. Additionally, names on ‘guest lists’ will not be honored during these hours.
