Eligibility/Services


All students are eligible to receive services offered at the Student Health Center (SHC). They are also subject to all of the requirements of the SHC (including completion of the Student Health Form).

Services:

  • Unlimited visits for nursing assessment and treatment of illness and injury, referral or scheduling for further evaluation by a physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Health and Wellness Information.
  • Allergy Injections (see requirements below).
  • Women’s Health services which include information on related topics, confidential consultation with clinicians, instruction in self-breast examination, routine gynecologic examination with Pap tests and treatment or referral if necessary.
  • Men’s Health Services which include information on related topics, confidential consultation with clinicians, and treatment or referral if necessary.
  • Consultation and follow-up for students with body image issues and/or eating disorders.
  • Routine physical examinations on a limited basis when appointment times are available.

Allergy Injections:

Allergy injections will be given to those students who are already on established allergy desensitization programs prescribed and initiated by their allergist.  We do require the following:

  • Written orders by the prescribing physician including the extract name, dosage schedule to be followed (including alteration of dosage due to being late for appointment dates), date of the most recent injection, and any special considerations.
  • Injections will be given 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday in the SHC. Injections will not be given during evening or weekend hours.
  • Extracts with orders will be stored in refrigerator in SHC.
  • Student must remain in SHC for a minimum of 20 minutes for observation and inspection of injection site before leaving.
