DSCP Programs
On-site, after hours college courses for the employees of DSCP, NAVICP, DCMC
- Certificate of proficiency in Purchasing (24 credit hours)
- Associate degree in Purchasing (61 credit hours)
- Courses leading to a Bachelor of Science degree (122 credit hours)
Certificate of Proficiency in Purchasing
This program requires the completion of eight business-related courses, four or more in Purchase/Acquisitions. Only two courses with a grade of at least "C" can be transferred from another college of university or government training classes.
The program allows coursework for the Certificate of Proficiency in Purchase/Acquisitions to be applied toward an Associate Degree in Purchase/Acquisitions or a Baccalaureate Degree in Professional Communications, Organizational Leadership, Management, Business Administration or other degree programs. Evaluation of certain courses would be required for application to a Bachelor of Science in a business major.
Associate Degree in Purchasing
Because many students who complete the course requirements for a Certificate of Proficiency in Purchase/Acquisitions decide to continue with their education, Saint Joseph's University offers them the opportunity to take the next step in their educational development, an Associate Degree.
The requirements for the Associate Degree program for those majoring in Purchase Acquisitions has been structured to allow most, if not all, of the courses taken for the Certificate of Proficiency to be applied towards the program.
Upon completion of the required 61 credit hours, an Associate Degree in Purchase/Acquisitions will be awarded. Courses can be applied toward a Baccalaureate Degree in Professional Communications, Organizational Leadership, Management, Business Administration or other degree programs.
