SECURITY 3/19/08
Securities Meeting with Bill Mattioli
Date: March 19, 2008
Location: Hawks Nest
Members Attended: Adrianna Exler and Leah Katsanis

Lighting on Campus
• New light put up on side of Science Center near Campion
• Two more lights will be put over the summer

Finals Information
• Library will open 24/7 during finals
• Meeting set up for Security to talk about how many officers will be
stationed near the library during the night
• Shuttle schedule will be readjusted in order to get students to class
at an earlier time for the 9am finals

Escort Issues
• Escort will always in any situation take students to and from the
Overbrook Train Station
• Since the new policy was enforced, escorts have been able to respond
to calls faster and more efficiently

Parking Passes
• Students that are studying abroad for the semester can turn in their
parking passes and get half of their money back
• Students cannot be given parking passes for night classes because
parking is limited and majority of students would take advantage of
this and never move their cars off of campus

Self-Defense Course
• Monday, April 14th at 6pm
• Trying to reserve the North Lounge

Maguire Campus
• This will be a 4 year process
• Next year will be the first year and only athletics will be over there
• Bill has requested for the campus to be split up into two areas that
will require 10 officers at the most to patrol those designated areas.
Since only athletics will be over there to begin with he might only
request for 5 officers to start off with.

Guards at Lancaster
• Still not walking to streets only sitting in the patrol cars or
standing in front of the building
• Students park their cars all along the streets and would feel safer
if a guard was walking the streets at night when they are going to
their cars

Security Handbook for Dummies
• Create a handbook to give to students along with the Student Handbook
• This will contain all information about St. Joe’s Security
• Hopefully this will eliminate complaints from students over security
and inform them about every aspect of our campus security
• Bill has agreed to give us any information that will be needed to put
the Handbook together

Overbrook Flyer
• All students in Overbrook received a flyer from Security explaining
shuttles times and information
• Hopefully students will be on time for the shuttle and not have to
complain about walking to campus anymore
