The University Student Senate is currently comprised of thirty-one unique full-time day, undergraduate students of the University. There is one Student Body President who sits at the top of the hierarchical structure. Directly under the President sits one Speaker of the Senate and four Vice Presidents: VP of Academic Affairs, VP of Communications, VP of Financial Affairs and VP of Student Affairs. The four VP positions are all elected positions; whereas the Speaker of the Senate is first elected as a Class Senator, then elected to the Speaker position by the Administrative Board. These six positions form the USS Executive Board.

The Administrative Board consists of eighteen Class Senators - six from each class who are directly elected from each of their respective classes (i.e. freshmen, sophomore, junior). There are also three to six At-Large Senators who are nominated by the Student Body President and become official representatives following the confirmation of the elected USS Administrative Board. Completing the Senate structure are two to four transitional senators selected from an application process. Considering the Senate's term runs by calendar year, during Fall Semester these Transitional Senators are freshmen while during the Spring Semester they are seniors. These Senators are selected by the Executive Board with the consent of the Student Body President.

For more information on duties, roles and responsibilities please refer to Article VI of The USS Constitution, found on The Constitution section of this website.
