The Drexel University site has many interesting sections, including 2000 Mathematics Puzzles, Conferences and Workshops, Problems of the Week, and information for secondary mathematics teachers Math Forum. MathNerds is a free service providing hints, references and guidance in many areas of mathematics. The MathNerds team members are unpaid volunteers who love mathematics. You may submit questions for any area of mathematics from kindergarten through college. You may also want to volunteer. The Futures Channel is a library of free online movies and lesson plans that take students behind the scenes of different careers to see real-world applications of math and science. Journal of Inquiry-Based Learning in Mathematics is a free service containing lectures and student-centered activities. Instructors serve as mentors. providing hints and guidance in many areas of matheamtics. JIBLM also publishes university-level course guides. The page is funded by MathNerds, Inc. and by the Eucational Advancement Foundation. High School Ace has mathematics tutorials, games and resources for high school teachers and students. Abstractmath.org is a web site for ost-calculus mathematics. The site contains topics such as "mathematical English" and "proofs" among other items of interest. math.about.com is a guide to mathematics that links to current articles and sites about many different mathematical concepts. An interesting site about calculus may give you some ideas readings for my classes. Another source of articles is jstor which provides articles from a number of different journals of mathematics. Calculus Resources On-line contains information on calculus teaching and learning resources calculus resources. The Maze Man presents mathematical puzzles and increases skills, vocabulary and creativity. themazeman. There is a wonderful site that discusses Math in the Movies and other interesting topics. This site includes movies, slide shows and interesting informaiton. Math in the Movies An interesting site about innovation in teaching that offers resources for research and curriculum development in mathematics education is is the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching . Professor Kenschaft (Montclair State University) hosts a weekly hour-long call-in talk show called Math Medley. Topics and guests list can be found at Math Medley. You can hear it live on Saturdays at noon on AM radio. You can also hear it at rensaissanceradio.com.
