This page references a number of additional articles and/or web sites of interest. I have attempted to classify them by topic. Most of them are things that I came across in the course of my readings. Quite a number were picked up from the New Scientist which maintains a column of interesting sites.

Human factors and Usability

Human Factors. by Henry Petroski American Scientist July-August 2000. An interesting discussion of the layout of the numeric keypad and of the telephone keypad. Petroski's column is something I look forward to in each issue of this magazine.

Clockwise Technologies an interface based on the rooms metaphor.

Task Gallery an experimental interface from Microsoft.
Not experimental anymore, but configurable and still evolving is GNOME
PAD++ A Zooming User Interface (ZUI) similar to the Zoom World described by Jef Raskin's book: The Humane Interface.
Jazz. Software for building zoomable user interfaces (ZUI). Developed at the University of Maryland's HCI Laboratory
A "fisheye menu" for looking through long lists without scrolling.
