Abstract:

You're playing Monopoly and it's your turn to roll. A particularly bad square looms ahead (TWO hotels on Park Place!). What is the probability that you skip over it unharmed? This problem is harder than it looks and even false starts lead to cool results!

The next colloquium is scheduled to be given by Saint Joseph's Faculty Member Rachel Hall. She will speak on Thursday, October 30, 11:30-12:45.

Presented by the SJU Math and Computer Science Department.

Sean Forman and Jonathan Hodgson, colloquium committee
