Class today

For class today, we will move onto chapter 2. We will talk about a simple simulation with arriving parts and a drill press. We will talk about the different pieces of the simulation and what the role of each is. We will talk about events and how we can model them as well. Some discussion of probability distributions will probably occur as well.

What we did in class August 28, 2001

We handed out the syllabus and went over that. You should get into the habit of looking at this webpage regularly.

We discussed the topics that we are going to cover this semester.

We discussed Chapter 1, which dealt with why we do simulation and what types of simulations we can perform and what we will be doing.

We started up Arena and showed some different simulations.
