Class Last night

We discussed the drill press simulation some more.

We went through all the parts involved in designing a simulation and then did iterative steps from a hand simulation.

I briefly mentioned process-based simulations and confidence intervals.

And we also put up with an annoying alarm.

Next Time

Next time, we should finish chapter 2, with a discussion of the steps we would take in a normal simulation study. We will then dive into the Arena software package.

Star CNC Machine Tool Corp.- Standard Products

Pictures and descriptions of a very expensive machine for processing and shaping metal parts. Something that might be used in the example we did in class.

Class on August 30, 2001

On our second day of class, I read roll.

We talked about pieces of a simulation. You should have some understanding of the different parts and how they relate to each other.

A little about queuing theory.

We introduced a simple simulation involving a drill press and blank parts to be drilled.

We talked about the event calendar and the simulation clock.
