I am a Philadelphia native who loves to travel and meet new people. I have been in higher education for over 10 years and enjoy teaching along with meeting students who are passionate about learning and helping others. I know that there are so many things that students have to do while in college and I hope to be a source of support in addition to being a mentor who inspires and encourages students to stretch themselves mentally and cognitively. It is my passion for learning that has allowed me to travel and learn about other cultures and health which, has in turn, provided me with material for my classes. I am also a foodie who loves cooking and trying new foods. The connection between food and health is significant so I try to emphasize the pleasures that accompany food because it is essential to health both physically and mentally. I am glad to be back in Philadelphia after being away for almost 30 years and I hope to remain a vital part of the SJU community.
My research interests include Health equity, Determinants of health, Chronic Disease prevention, Women's health, and Stress management.
