Inclusion and Diversity Preview
The Inclusion and Diversity Preview is an overnight program to discuss how Saint Joseph's values an inclusive and diverse student community. Our campus is home to a population that consists of students from a variety of backgrounds. This event is geared towards admitted students who may be the first person in their family to attend college and/or passionate about discovering how a Jesuit, Catholic institution tackles subjects of inclusion and diversity.

The evening event begins at one of our most popular on-campus hangouts, The Perch. Featured speakers for this portion of the event include:

Sunday, April 2, 2017
5:00–5:30pm Check In Bring your overnight gear and get settled in to Hawk Hill. You will begin your evening in The Perch.
5:30 –7:00pm Reception Families will get to know SJU faculty, staff, and students. Students will be visiting our Club Rush fair featuring various SJU student-led organizations
7:00 –7:30pm Student Activity Students will have the opportunity to speak with SJU students to learn of their experience & opinions about life on campus.
7:30 –9:30pm Social Students will have the opportunity to relax, play an assortment of games, socialize with current and prospective students and/or watch a movie.
9:30pm Residence Hall Prospective Students will retrieve their belongings and wrap up their night in the dorm room with their overnight host in the residence halls.
Monday, April 3, 2017
7:45 - 8:15am Walk with a Hawk Check In (The Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center)
Parents will pick up their students’ belongings from The Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center. Students are required to check in at The Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center and participate in the Walk with a Hawk Program.
What to Bring
- Photo ID
- Completed Permission Slip (Inclusion and Diversity Preview contract.doc)
- Sleeping Bag
- Comfortable Shoes
- Shower Shoes
- Optional - Any spending money you require for the bookstore or snacks
This event will begin in the evening on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
Make a weekend out of it! Participants are strongly encouraged to register for Admitted Students Day on Sunday, April 2 and the Walk with a Hawk shadow day on Monday, April 3. Through this weekend experience you will discover how Saint Joseph's could be the right fit for you!
