At Saint Joseph's University, our students embrace broad perspectives and broad skills. We come together as a community to ensure that your unique gifts and talents are cultivated. Our admission team reviews your application to get to know you as a whole person. We take a look at more than just your academic achievements—we're interested in your personal qualities and contributions to the community, as well.

    Test Optional Admission

Since 2014, Saint Joseph’s University has offered a test optional policy in which students may choose whether they wish to include SAT or ACT test scores for admission and merit scholarship consideration.

International students are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores. However, an international student for whom English is not their primary or native language must demonstrate English proficiency via the TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo test.

If you decide to switch your decision about submitting test scores after submitting your application for admission, you may update your decision within your SJU Admission Account no later than the application deadline. An admission counselor may be able to help you with your decision.

    Submitting Test Scores

    Self-Reporting Scores

For applicants who wish to include SAT and/or ACT scores as part of their application, scores may be self-reported. To self-report scores, students may include them on their application or through their SJU Admission Account. Enrolling students will be asked to provide an official score report prior to beginning classes at Saint Joseph's University.

Test results to demonstrate English proficiency must be official. We do not accept self-reported TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo scores for admission.

    Submitting Official Scores
Saint Joseph's University considers test scores to be official if they are: provided via a score report from the ACT or College Board; listed on the applicant's high school transcript; or provided directly from the applicant's school counselor.

    Saint Joseph's University School Codes:
    • College Board: 2801
    • ACT: 3684
    • FAFSA: 003367
