My favorite part about SJU is the people. From the faculty, to the staff, to the students, the people at Saint Joseph's University are genuine, authentic individuals. Everyone in some capacity becomes a contributing member to our community whether it is through teaching a course, or leading a service group. The people on our campus create a rich, dynamic culture.
My #1 tip for your college search is to be proactive. The more proactive you are, the easier your college search will be. Stay on top of deadlines and ask your teachers for letters of recommendation early. The application process can be stressful and it is a busy time for everyone. The sooner you get your applications completed, the better.
If I could take any class at SJU, I'd take Mangia! Flavors of Italy. This course dives into the rich history of Italian cuisine. You will study the art of cooking in the Italian culture and how specific dishes have shaped a specific Italian identity. Being Italian and with my love of food, this course is definitely one that sparks my interest.
When in Philadelphia, definitely eat! Philadelphia has a wide variety of great restaurants and fun places to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Some are well known, such as the Reading Terminal Market, and others are a bit hidden, such as Nick's Old Fashioned Roast Beef. The city of brotherly love offers all types of delicious cuisines and I am still finding new places every time I go out to eat.
When I'm not at work you can find me at a sporting event in South Philly or playing basketball with my roommates.
