What questions do you love to hear from students?
I love when students ask about study abroad or other off campus educational opportunities. I find it very valuable when a student understands the importance of learning outside of the classroom. I was able to live in Ghana after I graduated from college and found it to be an incredibly rewarding experience learning about a culture that is completely different from my own. I believe that interest in a worldly education can teach us a lot about others as well as ourselves.
If you could educate all students on ONE thing about the admissions process, what would it be?
I think that a lot of students feel pressure to impress the schools they are applying to. While it is definitely important to present your best self, I would also say that being authentic is just as important. Let us see who you really are, not who you think we want to see!
What would you do over again from your college experience, if you had the chance?
I would definitely go back to take more elective courses. As students, I think many of us felt pressure to complete our required courses but the fun part about college is being able to learn whatever you want. Go take that painting class, have fun with it!
