Alternative Spring Break programs, such as our most popular mission program-the Appalachian Experience - allow students to work on Habitat for Humanity sites in Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky. They do more than just serve others on these excursions, but rather serve their own hearts in the process.
Whether it’s weekly service, a service immersion program or service-learning courses- our students realize that their education is not all about them. While they engage in the outside communities of the world, students continue to strengthen the campus community with all they bring to the table. SJU students tackle issues such as poverty, AIDS, violence, mental illness, and racism, and continue to live the Jesuit mission day after day.
