Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing Internships & Co-Ops
Saint Joseph's University students are offered many internship opportunities, whether it be through the pharmaceutical and healthcare marketing department or the resourceful co-op program or the These internships often lead to employment after graduation for many students, helping them secure roles such as:
- Entry-level sales and marketing representative for large pharmaceutical companies
- Data analyst for healthcare insurers
- Creative planner for advertising agencies
- Strategic planner
- Project manager
Internships may be completed for academic credit. Students can receive up to 3 credits (general elective) for the completion of an approved internship.
To be eligible students must be in good standing and currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Internship for credit approval is restricted to students in their junior and senior years.
Students seeking academic credit for an internship must seek departmental approval prior to accepting and commencement of the internship. A letter from the company outlining the intern's responsibilities, start and end dates and supervising manager must be submitted to the department. The internship manager at the sponsoring company must agree to provide feedback about the student's performance that will be considered as part of the student's grade.
Students should approach a PMK faculty member to supervise the internship. Once the faculty has reviewed the letter of appointment, discussed the position with the student and agreed to supervise the internship, the student will enroll in PMK4941. The internship credit is applied to a general elective; it is not applied to a course in the PMK major.
