Overview
What’s Open When at Saint Joseph's University
Saint Joseph's is open and continues to serve students. Below, find a listing of opening dates, in-person and virtual offerings and links to important University resources and services. Check back frequently, as changes may be necessary to hours and operations.
Undergraduate Admission
The Office of Undergraduate Admission in the Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center is open for tours of campus Monday through Friday and most Saturdays throughout the spring semester. Please register in advance for a tour and continue to check sju.edu/visit-us for all of our visit options.
Public Safety and Security
Public Safety and Security continue to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 610-660-1111. Students experiencing symptoms of coronavirus, should call this number to be connected to the Student Health Center at any time.
Campus Transportation
Shuttle Services for the spring semester have resumed. Please visit the Campus Shuttles & Escorts page on the Office of Public Safety & Security’s website for more information, including health and safety measures for Public Safety escort vehicles, Student Life fleet vehicles and all Shuttle buses.
Bookstore
The campus Barnes & Noble bookstore is now open. Please check our website, sju.bncollege.com, for our store hours. All students looking to purchase textbooks for the upcoming spring semester must place an order on the website. To help maintain physical distancing, textbooks will not be sold in stores, but students can order them online. Orders can be shipped to home addresses prior to campus arrival, or available for pickup at the bookstore.

Health, Wellness and Recreation
Student Health Center
The Student Health Center is open in Quirk Hall Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, with the exception of Good Friday, April 2.
Students in need of non-emergent medical care should request an appointment through Starfish. Well visits will be scheduled for the morning and sick visits in the afternoon.
Any student with the following symptoms: fever, cough, or shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea; or contact with a known or suspected COVID-19 case are encouraged to call Public Safety at 610-660-1111. Symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Students are welcome to call Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) to schedule appointments for mental health counseling. With some exceptions, sessions are conducted remotely via a secure version of Zoom. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Weekday “virtual” drop-in hours (no appointment necessary) are available from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. To make an initial counseling appointment or use remote drop-in times, students are asked to call CAPS main office at Merion Gardens at 610-660-1090.
When the CAPS office is closed, after 4:30 p.m., over weekends and on holidays, students can reach an on-call counselor immediately by calling the main office and selecting option 2 on the menu.
Recreation
O’Pake Recreation Center
O’Pake Recreation Center will open for the spring semester on Monday, February 1 at 7:30 a.m. Campus recreation outdoor programming will begin on Monday, January 25 including equipment reservations and group fitness classes. Visit Campus Recreation’s website for more information.
Sweeney Field and Track
Athletics fields, including the track, will be closed until further notice. Visit Campus Recreation’s website for available facilities, programs and activities.
Student Life and Services
Residence Life
The administrative office of residence life (ground floor of LaFarge) remains open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, with the exception of University holidays. Zoom, phone, and in-person appointments can be made by calling the office at 610-660-1060 or emailing reslife@sju.edu. Students can make appointments with their residential area managers through Starfish. Additionally, residential staff are always available for urgent needs on weekends, holidays, and after hours by contacting public safety and asking for the Residence Life staff member on-call.
Campion Student Center
Campion Student Center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the exceptions of Thanksgiving, the day after and the weeks of December 21 and 28.
PNC Bank in Campion Student Center
The PNC Bank branch located on the lower level of Campion Student Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning on January 15.
Campus Ministry
Beginning on Sunday, February 7, students are invited to join SJU Campus Ministry for live-streamed virtual mass at either 6:30 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. Follow along on Instagram at @sjucampusministry. Limited seating is available in the chapel for those who wish to attend in person.

Financial Aid
The Financial Aid Office is located in Barbelin 121 and is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome during these hours or simply call 610-660-2500 or email finaid@sju.edu with questions. Zoom appointments, if preferred, can be made by emailing finaid@sju.edu.
Documents can be uploaded via the Secure Document Upload option in the Nest (select Tuition & Aid page and under Financial Aid Requirements, click the link of the document you wish to upload) or drop off paperwork in the wooden drop box located outside of the office
Registrar
The Registrar’s Office is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Request assistance through Team Dynamix via sju.edu/help under "Student Records & Registration." Electronic Transcripts can be ordered at www.getmytrancript.com
Office of Student Accounts
The Office of Student Accounts is located in Barbelin 122 and is now open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, with the exception of Thanksgiving, the day after, and the weeks of December 21 and 28. Please call 610-660-2400 before you visit the main office. Zoom, phone and in-person appointments can be made by calling the office or emailing bursarsoffice@sju.edu.
Student Learning and Support Services
Office of Student Outreach and Support
The Office of Student Outreach & Support can work individually with students to explore and coordinate both personal and academic support needed while facing a medical diagnosis or balancing that of a family member. Students can email sos@sju.edu to speak with a staff member. For students with multiple needs, the Office of Student Outreach and Support will coordinate needs with the other offices.
Post Learning Commons and Drexel Library
The Drexel Library and Post Learning Commons buildings are open for contactless book pick up and individual study space. Consult the library website for daily building hours.
Librarians are available for online research help appointments or via the library’s help center. To access online databases, journals, and e-books, or to request contactless pickup of books and DVDs, see our website.
Office of Disability Services
The Office of Student Disability Services will continue to provide support to students when we transition to the online environment. Faculty and students will continue to use the Accommodate system for accommodation requests.
Office of Learning Resources
The Office of Learning Resources continues to support students with free Peer Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), and Learning Strategy Consultations programs available via Zoom. Student Success
Staff in the Office of Student Success are dedicated to supporting students. They can assist students in making connections with campus resources and provide strategies for having a positive experience at SJU. Students can schedule appointments (Zoom, phone or in person) with members of the Office of Student Success through Starfish.
For faculty and staff, Starfish offers convenient appointment scheduling functionality that can be set up by following the steps outlined in the Employee Set-Up Guide posted to the Student Success website. If you're not already using Starfish for appointment scheduling, watch this video to learn how to use Zoom and Starfish together for online appointments. The Writing Center
The Writing Center is open to all writers in the Saint Joseph’s University community, offering free virtual consultations by trained peer tutors.
Beginning Sunday, January 31, appointments will be available Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m; Friday 10 a.m. to 1p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
During finals week, the Writing Center is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hawk Hub Food and Basic Needs Resource Center
HawkHUB, the University’s food and basic needs resource center, is available for anyone in the SJU community who needs non-perishable food, personal products and school supplies. HawkHUB is located in the Writing Center (162 Merion Hall). Beginning Monday, February 1, HawkHUB is open for in-person selection and pickup at The Writing Center, 162 Merion Hall. Current hours are listed on the HawkHUB website. Online ordering and pickup is available year-round at the Campion Student Center Information Desk on the 2nd floor. Delivery is also available for students in isolation or quarantine and those who live within five miles of campus.
Donations are accepted at drop boxes around campus and through Venmo @hawkhub. Follow @hawkhub on Instagram for announcements about Fresh Food Fridays and other events and subscribe to the HawkHUB newsletter. For more information, please contact hawkhub@sju.edu.
Undergraduate Advising Centers
Advising centers are available via email and appointment. Virtual walk-in hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Career Development Center
Career counseling is available by appointment (30 and 60 minutes) and quick chats (15 minutes). Log in to Handshake to schedule time with a career counselor (up to 12 hours in advance of the requested time). Resumes uploaded to Handshake will continue to be reviewed.
Employee Services
Mailroom
The mailroom continues to serve the University community Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Packages received from USPS, UPS, FEDEX, Amazon and other carriers will be scanned and an email notification will be sent to the recipient. Contact the mailroom at 610-660-1180 or by emailing mailservices@sju.edu. The Smart lockers at the Perch will resume on January 25 for package pickup upon notification.
Print Services
Print Services is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Standard print requests can be submitted to Randy Kehl at rkehl@sju.edu or 610-660-2621 and Jason Arakeli at jarakeli@sju.edu or 610-660-2623.
As a reminder Print Services is now located at Moore Hall lower level, 6051 Overbrook Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19131.
Human Resources
The Office of Human Resources is open virtually Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 pm. If you have questions or would like to meet with a member of the HR team, please visit here to schedule a virtual appointment. If you need to drop off employment documents in HR, a member of the team will be on-campus from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in St. Mary’s. Thank you for your cooperation, as we work to de-densify the office space and maintain physical distancing.
Student Employment
Students onboarding to new work-study positions should submit your completed paperwork and required identification in the Office of Human Resources Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The required student onboarding paperwork is available for print online. Walk-ins outside of these hours will not be permitted in order to ensure physical distancing.

ASPIRE College Support
ASPIRE will be offering hybrid options for students to select their chosen modality - in-person, virtual or a combination of both.
Day Program
Kinney’s day program is open and running on a rotating schedule to de-densify and allow for physical distancing.
