Updated Class Schedule with Format/Modalities
The University continues to prepare for the start to the semester on Monday, August 24. In an effort to provide as much flexibility as possible, classes will be offered in a variety of modalities including online, hyflex, hybrid, and face-to-face. If you desire a fully remote schedule, you should look for online and hyflex formats, or a hybrid format with instructor approval. If you desire more of a face-to-face experience, you should look for hyflex, hybrid, and face-to-face courses.
Saint Joseph’s University was awarded federal funding from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help relieve the financial impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CARES Act Grant Award is an emergency grant that will be made available to eligible students who are struggling with expenses or facing other unexpected financial challenges specifically related to the disruption of on-campus operations for the spring 2020 term. This includes expenses such as housing, food, course related materials and technology. To learn more about the CARES Act, visit the NAICU site.

If you are not eligible for the CARES Act Grant Award but are still in need of emergency financial assistance, we strongly encourage you to contact the Saint Joseph’s University Financial Aid Office.
During this time, maintaining your mental and physical well-being is essential and Saint Joseph’s offers many services that can help ensure that you are taking care of yourself.
Saint Joseph’s Student Health Center assists students in the pursuit of their academic goals and personal development by identifying and addressing health situations which impede student learning. During summer months, students are encouraged to contact their primary care physician.
Counseling and Psychological Services, located in Merion Gardens, promotes the psychological wellbeing of Saint Joseph’s University students through the provision of a variety of therapeutic interventions and outreach programs. The delivery of these services is framed by “transformative learning goals” and occurs within a campus climate that supports the whole person; academically, socially, physically and spiritually. Campus Recreation enhances the student experience by providing recreational opportunities. We work to reinforce the educational mission, which emphasizes the development of the total person – Spirit, Mind, and Body, by promoting and advancing healthy lifestyle choices through participation opportunities, educational experiences, and support services. In efforts to keep our community active, we have created the Virtual Recreation Center. Here you’ll find a variety of resources to keep you moving.
Quarantine & Isolation Checklist
Self-isolation and quarantine help protect the Saint Joseph’s University community by preventing exposure to those who have either been diagnosed with or exposed to the coronavirus. While isolation separates those who are sick from those who are not, quarantine separates those who may have been exposed to the virus to monitor if they become sick. Please use the following checklists to prepare for self-isolation or quarantine.
When to self-isolate:
- I tested positive for coronavirus, regardless of whether or not I am experiencing symptoms.
- I am showing symptoms of coronavirus and am awaiting my test results.
When to quarantine:
- I’ve been in direct contact with someone who was diagnosed with coronavirus.
- I recently traveled out of state.
- I recently attended a large social gathering where physical distancing was not possible.
Go-Bag Packing list:
It is recommended that students pack a go-bag in the event they need to quickly self-isolate or quarantine.

Isolation and Quarantine Times: According to the CDC, you should quarantine for 14 days after your last potential contact with a person who has COVID-19. If you were diagnosed with COVID-19, you should isolate for at least 10 days after your first symptoms appeared and remain in isolation until your symptoms have improved and you’ve gone at least 24 hours with no fever without fever-reducing medication.
If you are in quarantine and become ill or symptomatic, remain in your room and call Public Safety at 610-660-1111 to notify the University.
Student Outreach & Support
Student Outreach & Support can work individually with students to explore and coordinate both personal and academic support needed while facing a medical diagnosis or balancing that of a family member. Students can email email@example.com to speak with a staff member. For students with multiple needs, the Office of Student Outreach and Support will coordinate needs with the other offices as appropriate. Student Outreach & Support staff are available to consult with students and families to support the wellness needs of students.

COVID-19 Self-Disclosure Form for Students
Please complete the COVID-19 Self-Disclosure Form if any of the following applies to you:
- You are symptomatic of COVID-19
- You have been diagnosed with COVID-19 (for example, tested positive)
- You have been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19
Housing Forms for Students
The University is asking that students, faculty and staff keep in close contact regarding coronavirus. Some forms may only be accessible with Saint Joseph’s single sign-on credentials.
