Saint Joseph's University was founded by the Jesuits — visionary Catholic priests and educators who prioritized social justice, the pursuit of excellence, service to others, and the development of the whole person, or, cura personalis. One of only 28 universities and colleges nationwide exemplifying this 500-year- old Jesuit tradition, SJU offers each of its students an educational experience that will hone their skills, expand their knowledge, grow their faith and strengthen their character.
SJU provides a variety of courses for students visiting from another college or university as well as someone who wishes to take a University level course on a non-degree basis. Take advantage of our two-week Intersession classes offered in January, our traditional fall or spring semester courses, or accelerated summer schedule.
The will to live greater exists inside all of us. It pushes us to be more, think more, learn more, and love more. At Saint Joseph’s, we find it in the classroom, through service, athletic competition, and in how we treat one another. Above all, living greater unites us as one – one University, one common cause, one powerful force for good in the world.
SJU’s 50,000 graduates lead successful lives across the globe. They’re in business, medicine, and law. They work for nonprofits and Fortune 500s. No matter where they’ve gone in life, they share a commitment to social justice and giving back. In fact, Saint Joseph’s National Alumni Board launched Global Community Day, where SJU graduates all over the world unite to serve their local communities.
