Autism Online Certificate of Proficiency

Format Offered: Online

Do you find yourself living with or providing personal or professional support to an individual that has been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD)? As diagnoses rise, so too does the need to understand and learn to assist this growing population. In response, Saint Joseph’s now offers coursework in autism studies for parents, educational support personnel, and involved community members who want to learn more about ASDs. Students may also take advantage of opportunities to work with Saint Joseph’s Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support for real-world experience. The online certificate in autism provides students the flexibility and convenience to complete their coursework when and where it fits best in their schedule.

An online Certificate of Proficiency in Autism Studies consists of five theoretical courses approved by the BACB (IHS 465, IHS 466, IHS 467, IHS 473 and IHS 474).

Over 86% of Saint Joseph’s University Professional and Liberal Studies and Haub Degree Completion Graduates were employed full-time at the date of graduation. Whereas, 3% of the Professional and Liberal Studies class of 2017 have chosen to further their education by attending graduate school on a full-time basis while 6% have decided to delay their job search.

The demand for quality health professionals is on the rise. Building upon our existing expertise in this sector, Saint Joseph's University has created a School of Health Studies and Education, which will officially open in the Fall of 2019. Over 40 existing undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and certificate programs, including this one, will be housed in this school.
