If you have a strong commitment to teaching, but have less than initial certification, consider the Online Accelerated Teacher Certification (OATCERT) program through Saint Joseph's University. Join a community of online learners working at an accelerated pace toward a common goal!
The OATCERT program is designed to aid working professionals earn their initial secondary (grades 7-12) teaching certificate or a master's degree in secondary education within one of the traditional content areas: math, science, English, and social studies.
Scholarships Available for STEM Educators
Through a $1.45 million grant from the National Science Foundation's the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, Saint Joseph's University, and five partner institutions have increased their commitment to the recruitment, education and mentorship of STEM teachers in local secondary schools. Eligible students can apply to become a Noyce scholar and receive a scholarship to pursue secondary teacher certification at Saint Joseph's as well as opportunities for mentorship and professional development.
The demand for quality education professionals is on the rise. Building upon our existing expertise in this sector, Saint Joseph's University has created a School of Health Studies and Education, which will officially open in the Fall of 2019. Over 40 existing undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and certificate programs, including this one, will be housed in this school.
