Psychology Major Five-Year B.S./M.S. Option

The psychology department at Saint Joseph's offers a competitive, combined-degree option for students who declare a major in psychology. Through this opportunity, undergraduates in their junior year who have applied to the five-year program are evaluated on the basis of their academic transcript, letters of recommendation and an essay outlining their academic interest in graduate work in psychology. Students must emphasize experimental psychology with a focus on behavioral neuroscience, clinical psychology and neuropsychology, behavioral pediatrics, social psychology, cognitive psychology and developmental psychology. All students in the five-year program must complete a comprehensive examination and empirical thesis project.
