    St. Andrew’s Society Awards SJU Sophomore with Yearlong Scholarship

    The St. Andrew's Society of Philadelphia has awarded sophomore George Frattara ’20, of Warrington, Pennsylvania, the St. Andrew’s Scholarship. The $25,000 award will enable Frattara to study at the University of St. Andrew’s in Fife, Scotland, during his junior year.

    Joseph R. Biden Jr., 47th Vice President of the United States, urged a generation of college students to become engaged in changing the world today in an address at Saint Joseph’s University.

    “There’s so much we can do, and we desperately need you,” Biden told a crowd of nearly 3,000 students, faculty, staff and community members. “Young people have to lead.”

    U.S. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) shared memories of Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and the civil rights movement of the 1960s in a speech today at Saint Joseph’s University. The event was the culmination of a yearlong commemoration of the 50th anniversary of King’s own speech on SJU’s campus in October 1967.

    PHILADELPHIA (April 13, 2018) – Five senior art majors will display their work in the Saint Joseph’s University Gallery, April 13 – May 19. The gallery is part of the annual undergraduate art thesis exhibition. An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 6, 5 –8 p.m.

    The student projects culminate a yearlong senior capstone course, taught by Susan Fenton, M.F.A., associate professor of art.
