HawkFest is right around the corner. The University-wide celebration will take place Saturday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 22. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families are invited to reminisce and create memories, reunite with friends and tour campus during the annual homecoming weekend on Hawk Hill.
Here are a few highlights to expect at this year’s HawkFest:
The Kinney Center Walk/Run For Autism
The eighth annual Kinney Walk/Run for Autism will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21. Proceeds from the event supports individuals with autism, their families and students studying to work in the field. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8:30 a.m. at Connelly Hall. Register ahead of time and use the Promo Code: AutismSupporter2019 for $5 off the race fee.
Hawk Hill Picnic
The Hawk Hill Picnic on Curran Field will feature local fare, a beer and wine garden, music, a Kids’ Corner with moon bounces, a new Univest Cash Grab Machine, GEO Kids activities and more. Alumni can reconnect with classmates in the special reunion section with a private beer garden, food and seating. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21, from noon to 3 p.m.
Philadelphia Trolley Tour
Guests can take a trolley tour of Philadelphia on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. and learn more about how the City of Brotherly Love forged a nation, cheered for Rocky, invented the soft pretzel and is home to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The two-and-a-half hour tour begins on Cardinal Avenue and concludes at the Art Museum.
There are a number of opportunities for the University community to cheer on their Hawks. Athletics events will include a Men’s Tennis Invitational, Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22 at the SJU Tennis Complex; Field Hockey vs. Delaware on Friday, Sept. 20 at Ellen Ryan Field; the Women's Lacrosse Alumni Games Saturday, Sept. 21 at Sweeney Field; Men’s Soccer v. Duquesne on Saturday, Sept. 21 on Sweeney Field; Field Hockey vs. Penn on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at Ellen Ryan Field; and Women’s Club Soccer vs. TCNJ on Sunday, Sept. 22 at Sweeney Field.
