The holiday season is upon us at SJU. Thanksgiving events, such as the student-favorite Thanksgiving Dinner Dance, which brings local senior citizens to campus, have passed, but the Saint Joseph's community is getting into the holiday spirit with events for students, staff and alumni on campus that celebrate camaraderie and the spirit of giving.
A list of upcoming events and opportunities to give follow below:
Project H.O.M.E. Turkey Basket Drive, Nov. 21, 8:30 - 10 a.m., Hagan Arena
Project H.O.M.E will host a drive of turkey baskets for local community partners. For more information about donating a basket, visit https://sites.sju.edu/asc/scheduled-events/.
Faculty/Staff Appreciation Game Night, Nov. 29, 7 p.m., Hagan Arena
The Office of Human Resources and the SJU athletics department is inviting all faculty, staff and administrators to attend the 4th Annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Game Night, as the SJU men’s basketball team faces off against Bucknell. Holiday Giving Tree, Nov. 30, 3 - 5 p.m., Maguire-Wolfington Welcome Center
The Administrative Staff Council (ASC) is once again sponsoring the Holiday Giving Tree. On Nov. 30, ASC will host a kick-off with cookies and hot chocolate. All giving tree ornaments can be found outside of Barbelin 121, Maguire-Wolfington Welcome Center and the Post Learning Commons. All gifts are due Dec. 15 at the Post Learning Commons front desk. Making PBnJ for Those in Need, Dec. 1, 12 - 1 p.m., Mandeville Hall, Room 365
The Business Intelligence and Technology Society will make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for community partners. All help is appreciated.
Kwanzaa Celebration, Dec. 6, 5-7 p.m., Campion Banquet Hall South
Enjoy the Kwanzaa ceremony, great food, good company, music and student performances.
Third Annual Midnight Breakfast, Dec. 11, 10:30 p.m. - 12 a.m., Campion Student Center Dining Hall
Join University President Mark C. Reed, Ed.D., for the annual pre-exams "Midnight Breakfast." Faculty and staff will serve a hot breakfast while students enjoy holiday music and visits from special guests. All students are welcome. Faculty and staff may register at this link.
Campus Ministry Christmas Outreach

University Singers Concert, Nov. 27, 7:30-9 p.m., Chapel of St. Joseph-Michael J. Smith, S.J. Memorial
"Journey to the Holidays," the annual University Singers concert is offered to free to SJU students, faculty and staff. General admission is $10; student admission is $5 with valid ID.
Musical Theatre Senior Showcase, Dec. 2, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., Bluett Theatre
The Department of Music, Theatre & Film will present a senior showcase concert. The event is free and open to the public.

Come appreciate SJU’s talented student jazz musicians as the Department of Music, Theatre & Film hosts a jazz band concert. The event is free and open to the public.
The Grace Notes Present “Lessons for the Season: The Spirit of Hope,” Dec. 10, 8 - 9 p.m., Chapel of St. Joseph-Michael J. Smith, S.J. Memorial
In their fourth annual concert, The Grace Notes will lead you on a musical journey of hope and love as they help us remember the true meaning and spirit of the Christmas season. This event will precede the 9 p.m. Mass.
Student Guitar Recital, Dec. 14, 7:30 - 9 p.m., Chapel of St. Joseph-Michael J. Smith S.J. Memorial
For a study break during finals week, student guitarists will perform. The event is free for all and open to the public.
Seasonal Mass Schedule
Throughout December, the Celebration of the Liturgy will be held in the Chapel of St. Joseph-Michael J. Smith, S.J.
Inaugural Advent Masses, Dec. 3, 11 a.m., 7 p.m., 9 p.m.
Come celebrate the beginning of the Advent season with a proclamation of faith at the Advent Mass.
The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Dec. 8, 12:20 p.m., 5 p.m.
SJU is celebrating the Holy Day of obligation of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Mass being held on campus.
Seasonal Celebration Mass, Dec. 10, 9 p.m.
Following The Grace Notes annual concert, Mass will be celebrated. The usual 7 p.m. Mass will not be celebrated again until next semester.
Third Sunday of Advent Mass, Dec. 17, 11 a.m., 9 p.m.
The 9 p.m. Mass will be the last evening Mass of the semester, with liturgies resuming January 21. There will be no 7 p.m. Mass.
Fourth Sunday of Advent Mass, Dec. 24, 11 a.m.
Come celebrate the last Sunday Mass before Christmas at SJU. Although this Mass is on Christmas Eve, it is not the Vigil Mass.
Christmas Vigil Mass, Dec. 24, 8 - 9 p.m.
Bring your family to Hawk Hill to celebrate Christmas. The Chapel of St Joseph Christmas Vigil Mass occurs on Christmas Eve this year, and there will be no Masses on Christmas Day.
