PHILADELPHIA (November 10, 2016) — Saint Joseph’s University earned a 2017 Military Friendly® School designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM JobsSM , and Military Spouse, announced today.
Published annually, Military Friendly® Schools is a comprehensive resource that helps veterans select the best college, university or trade school to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career. Factors such as student retention, graduation, job placement and loan repayment and persistence comprised the rating methodology.
Saint Joseph’s was among only 1,160 institutions awarded with the designation this year.
Founded in 2014, Saint Joseph’s Office of Veterans Services offers a central place for student veterans to meet with experienced staff for academic and specialized support. Under the direction of this office, the University also offers entrepreneurship programs to help veterans jumpstart their own businesses.
“We are proud to be continually recognized as a Military Friendly institution,” says Ralph Galati ’70 (USAF), director of the Office of Veterans Services, “It is a testament to the University’s sincere commitment to provide support, programs and opportunities for our country’s veterans.”
About Military Friendly® Schools: The Military Friendly® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions. The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weightings were developed by Victory Media with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers. Data calculations and tabulations were independently evaluated for completeness and accuracy by EY. The survey is administered for free and is open to all post-secondary schools that wish to participate. Criteria for consideration can be found at: https://militaryfriendly.com.
