PHILADELPHIA (September 12, 2017) — Saint Joseph’s University earned a No. 11 ranking among 187 regional universities (North) in U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 edition of Best Colleges. This marks the 20th consecutive year that Saint Joseph’s has secured a place in the region’s top tier. The list places SJU as the highest-ranked regional university in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and the second-highest-ranked institution in its cohort in Pennsylvania.

Saint Joseph’s scored high marks for student retention rate (No. 5 in its cohort) and graduation rate (No. 7). SJU was also ranked No. 4 on the publication’s list of best colleges for veterans.

"Saint Joseph's recurring position in the top tier of national rankings speaks to the relevance of and demand for our excellent educational offerings," says Jeanne Brady, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. "Our ability to evolve and grow programs to meet the needs of students while improving quality is what places us among leading institutions in the increasingly competitive realm of higher education."

In addition to the overall rankings, SJU’s risk management and insurance program, supported by the Maguire Academy of Insurance and Risk Management, earned a spot in the top 5 of its category nationwide for the third consecutive year, marking it among the strongest programs of its kind in the country.
