PHILADELPHIA (January 16, 2018) — Saint Joseph’s University’s Center for Professional Development (CPD) was designated as a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). PMI’s approval as a R.E.P. organization allows the University to hold prestigious project management trainings for candidates preparing to take project management certification exams. SJU’s primary Project Management course will occur on campus on Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from January 20 through March 3.
“We see the Project Management Course as a cornerstone of executive education and look forward to helping local professionals advance their careers by delivering this comprehensive program,” says Marie Stevenson, assistant director of business development at the Centers for Professional Development and Food Marketing.
CPD is housed within the Haub School of Business and offers educational and professional opportunities that enhance organizational goals and develop participants’ leadership skills. SJU met rigorous requirements set forth by PMI, such as demonstrating mature business practices that align with PMI core values, in order to receive the R.E.P. designation. The new R.E.P. status places the University among over 500,000 project practitioners in more than 185 countries in the PMI community.
The all-inclusive course covers extensive test preparation for candidates looking to pass the Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) exams. The updated course curriculum will primarily follow the new edition of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide®): Sixth Edition.
A course registration discount of 10 percent is available to SJU alumni, current students and PMI members. In addition, CPD will also provide corporate sliding scale discounts for two or more employees from the same company. A second session will also take place in the spring, featuring evening and weekend dates. Registration is required.
