Michael Solomon“We don’t buy things because of what they do. We buy things because of what they mean.” That’s the theme behind a new VoiceAmerica.com podcast series hosted by Michael R. Solomon, Ph.D., professor of marketing.

An SJU expert in consumer behavior, Solomon has developed a lineup of industry experts to explore and provide businesses with insight on the reasons why customers buy or don’t buy. Two of the experts include Christina Lampert ’16, account executive at Wiser Solutions, and David Allan, Ph.D., professor of marketing.

In his latest episode, “We Are What We Wear: The Psychology of Blue Jeans,” Solomon interviews Jen Sey, CMO of Levi Strauss & Co. and Henry Stafford, co-CEO of Revtown Jeans. The show examines how blue jeans are more than just a durable and comfortable product. Denim brands often tell a story that is linked to popular culture.
