DELINQUENT ACCOUNT/COLLECTION

Financial Hold: I understand and agree that if I fail to pay my student account bill or any monies due and owing Saint Joseph’s University by the scheduled due date, Saint Joseph’s University will place a financial hold on my student account, preventing me from registering for future classes, requesting transcripts, or receiving my diploma. The Official policy is as follows: The Official Transcript & Diploma Financial Hold Policy is Students are responsible for paying all tuition, fees, fines, charges and other associated amounts incurred during their enrollment at Saint Joseph’s University, including graduation. Financial holds are imposed for an outstanding student account balance of any amount. Financial holds generally restrict class registration along with access to official transcripts and diplomas. Official transcripts and diplomas will be released in the limited circumstances outlined in this policy.

Account Balance under $100

The University will assess a financial hold for any student whose account balance is under $100. However, if a student has an account balance below $100, the University will allow a one-time release of an official transcript or diploma. The financial hold will then be reinstated. Any subsequent request for a diploma or official transcript will be honored when the student either (i) pays the account balance in full; or (ii) provided that the student has not already defaulted on a payment plan, enters into a payment plan to address the balance.

Account Balance of $100 or more

Saint Joseph’s University will assess a financial hold (i) for any student whose account balance is $100 or more; or (ii) any student who has outstanding fees of any amount resulting from conduct sanctions, other penalties or sanctions, or restitution. The University will not issue a diploma or release an official transcript to students who have a financial hold of $100 or more on their student account until the student either: (i) pays the account balance in full; or (ii) provided that the student has not already defaulted on a payment plan, enters into a payment plan to address the balance. If the student enters into a payment (and has not previously defaulted on a payment plan), the University will allow a one-time release of an official transcript or diploma. The financial hold will then be reinstated. Financial holds also restrict students from registering for classes for future semesters.
