Registration Tools
Announcements
Fall 2024 registration for current Lancaster students will begin June 3:
- Monday, June 3 - Graduate students and students undergraduate students with 60 or more earned credits (as of Fall 2023)
- Tuesday, June 4 - Undergraduate students with 30-59 earned credits (as of Fall 2023)
- Wednesday, June 5 - All remaining current students
The Fall 2024 course schedule is now available to view on the Nest.
Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor to review their course plan. Students should also review the various registration tools available on this Lancaster Advising Support website.
Fall 2024 registration for new students begins June 21. If you are a new student and you have not signed up for a Fall 2024 Lancaster New Student Advising and Registration session, please do so today!
Preparing for Registration
Ensure that you have a seamless registration process by completing the following steps as you prepare to register.
- Check your Student Profile in the Nest for holds and registration notices that may prevent you from registering for your courses.
- Check your registration time within your Student Profile.

Plan Your Registration
- Review your degree requirements within your DegreeWorks tool in your Nest. (Note: Lancaster students should utilize the program curriculum sheets available on the Lancaster Advising Support website.)
- With the transition from the PA College Legacy Portal to the SJU Nest, some courses have changed names and numbers. Please refer to your program's curriculum sheet for further information.
- Plan your courses and build your schedule. It is important to note that lengths of courses will fall into one of three categories: 15-week full semester, 7-week part of term A, or 7-week part of term B.
- Connect with your advisor for assistance with confirming your academic plan.
- Need to register for an elective course? Review the elective course guide for available courses.
- Watch the Effective Search Strategies video.
- Utilize the Lancaster schedule builder. This is a great tool to help you visualize your weekly course schedule.

Students are encouraged to utilize the videos listed below to assist with the various aspects of the advising and registration process.
Navigating the Registration Process

Students can view their schedule by navigating to the registration resources section of the Nest.

Students are encouraged to review the academic calendar for important dates and information pertaining to their class schedule.

Students with a financial hold on their account are not permitted to add classes to their schedule. Please contact student accounts for additional assistance.

If a course that you would like to register for is closed, you will first want to check to see if joining the waitlist is an option. If so, be sure to watch the <joining the waitlist video> for step by step instructions on how to join the waitlist.
If a waitlist is not an option, you are encouraged to either register for a different section of the same course, or look for a replacement course. Contact your academic advisor if you need assistance.

You can look up your academic advisor's name in the Nest by selecting the Students tab in the top right section of the page. From there, select Access Student Profile within the Advising Resources section of the page.
Your academic advisor is also available in Starfish.

Starting Fall 2024, some PA College Legacy courses were given new names and/or numbers in the SJU registration system. In order to determine if any of your courses have changed names, please reference your program curriculum sheet. Contact your academic advisor if you need assistance.

Current Lancaster students who want to register for a Summer 2024 course and/or make an adjustment to their current Summer 2024 course schedule, should do so within the Self-Service Home section of their Legacy PA College Portal.
