Class of 2016

Project Manager at Kast Construction

Building His Way to the Top

Bringing a vision to life, Jonathan Panameno, BBA ’16, is reimagining the Florida skyline with new architectural landmarks as he manages $250 million worth of building development.

Panameno graduated from Saint Joseph’s with a double major in finance and risk management and insurance, as well as a minor in economics

As the project manager for Kast Construction, Panameno works alongside a team of talented construction professionals to solve complex design challenges. His latest project is managing the construction of Nautilus 220, a residential and mixed-use development, that includes two 24-story, high-end luxe condo high-rise in Lake Park, Florida. These structures boast 337 units and a wide variety of amenities.

During his finance work study at Saint Joseph’s, Panameno did not know that an inspiring conversation he had with Professor Michael Angelina would result in the best decision for his career.

The look on their faces when they saw these projects in person was priceless and confirmed that I was getting to do something very special,

“I ended up taking about four of his classes and participating in the Gamma Iota Sigma chapter,” says Panameno. “His passion and advice to take risks and strive for greatness inspired me. Ultimately, this strong foundation in risk management guided me toward the amazing career I have today.”

Panameno gained several years of experience in property and casualty underwriting at Philadelphia Insurance Companies, but it wasn’t until he was introduced to the general contracting and high-rise construction industry by a fellow Hawk, John Ellerman ’18, that he found his calling.

Panameno has since had a key role in the construction of many notable projects including the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel and the Miami Brightline Station, Florida’s first ever high-speed luxury train. Panameno’s success in both projects made it all the more rewarding when he was able to show off his work to his parents.
