David H. Burton Postdoctoral Fellowship
The David H. Burton Postdoctoral Fellowship is a teaching and research position honoring Dr. Burton, who was a model teacher-scholar in the Department of History at Saint Joseph's University for over fifty years. The Burton Fellow regularly teaches courses in their area of expertise and gives an annual public lecture on their research.
Previous fellows have included Roger L. Martinez, Jane Hooper, Erik G. Huneke, and Leslie Rogne Schumacher.
The current Burton Fellow is Julia Mansfield, whose teaching and research are focused on the history of infectious diseases and the political and social history of the United States in the Early Republic Era.
