Glasser/Woodland Hall

Located at our University City location, the Glasser/Woodland Hall complex is home to the health professions programs in the School of Health Professions at Saint Joseph’s University. Here, you’ll find state-of-the-art clinical laboratories, equipment and facilities that support the projects, research and evidence-based practice for our OT, PA, PT, PA and PharmD programs.

Pediatric Sensory Lab

OT students have access to the Sensational Kids Lab, a pediatric occupational therapy lab made possible by more than $30,000 in grant funding from, among other resources, the Christian R. & Mary F. Lindback Foundation and the McLean Contributionship. The lab features:

  • A ball pit that helps with sensory feedback and gross motor activities
  • Swings that aid in body control and balance
  • A rock wall that helps children learn about three-dimensional space and weight-bearing
  • Sound wired room that allows faculty to give students real-time feedback

The lab is an integral part of an OT student’s education each semester. First-year students are introduced to this space in their Interventions I class and use it to learn about treatment plans, evaluating patients, and case-based reasoning as they approach their clinical rotations in their final year.

Activities of Daily Living Suite (ADL Suite)

Occupational Therapy (OT) students have access to two fully equipped Activities of Daily
Living (ADL) suites designed to support hands-on, experiential learning. Within these simulated
environments, students develop essential clinical skills by practicing functional tasks such as
transfers to a bed, shower, and toilet. Opportunities to work with standardized patients further
enhance students’ ability to apply clinical reasoning and build confidence in patient care.

ADL suite includes:

  • A full kitchen
  • A bathroom
  • Washer and dryer units

These suites play a vital role in the OT curriculum, serving as immersive learning environments
for intervention courses and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) experiences. By replicating real-
world settings, the ADL suites prepare students to deliver effective, patient-centered care across
a variety of practice contexts.

The Continue of Care Simulation Suite

This state-of-the-art lab allows students to develop clinical skills in a safe, supportive, and highly
realistic setting. The suite features adaptable patient care rooms, enabling a wide range of
simulation scenarios across the continuum of care. Each room is equipped with audio and video
recording capabilities, allowing students to review their performance, reflect on clinical
decisions, and strengthen critical thinking skills through guided feedback. The simulation suite
also includes manikins. These manikins provide lifelike physiological responses, helping
students practice assessment and intervention planning. Engagement with a simulation suite
helps build students' confidence, clinical reasoning, and client-centered care.
