This is Your Museum
The Maguire Art Museum’s education programs will offer visitors transformational art experiences. Empowered to inquire and interpret through one’s own multifaceted lens, you can engage in compassionate discourse, revel in “aha!” moments and deepen your understanding of the human condition.
K-12 Programming
Affirming Arts Education Program
Our K-12 cross-curricular art appreciation program will use a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) framework and STEAM activities to cultivate critical thinking, respectful communication, and a problem solving mindset. This program is offered to area schools in the classroom and at the museum. Learning options for students with special needs are available.
Affirming Arts Field Trips
Students will gain a deeper understanding of cultural expression and social identity as they engage with our collection during their Field Trip. The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) framework guides the tour as we interpret artworks from a new lens. Students will have the opportunity to capture their reactions in their journals and share resonating ideas with their classmates. Looking to align to your curriculum? Gallery specific or subject area themed tours are available as well. Special museum hours available for students with special needs. Contact Jeanne Bracy for more information.
Saint Joseph’s University
Set on Saint Joseph’s beautiful Hawk Hill campus, the museum is designed to be integral to student life. From events, clubs, and community outreach to interdisciplinary scholarship, the Maguire Art Museum will challenge students to broaden their world views.
Community Programming and Adult Education
Through tours, family activities, engaging classes, and quiet contemplation, the Maguire Art Museum offers communities a destination for wonder, enrichment, and fun. If you are interested in learning more about community programming, contact Erin Downey for more information.
