Student Refunds

Withdraw/Refund Policy:

Tuition reversals as a result of official withdrawal will be made according to the following schedule. Excluded from the reversal calculation will be the costs related to on-campus housing and university meal plans. There will be no reversal for unauthorized withdrawals. Ceasing to attend and/or giving notice to your instructor(s) does not constitute the proper notice of withdrawal. The allowed percentage of a tuition refund will be based upon the date the notice of withdrawal is received.

Undergraduate day students are billed a flat rate between 1 and 17 credits (some majors may be up to 20) and are NOT refunded when a student withdraws from a course or courses and remain between 1 and 17 credits.  Undergraduate day students will only receive the refunded tuition if they withdraw from all courses within the dates of the withdrawal period.

In addition, course fees are not refundable when a student  withdraws from a course.

In addition to the University's reversal schedule and in accordance with the Higher Education Amendments of 1992, if a student completely withdraws from the University and has utilized Federal Title IV funds (e.g. Federal Pell Grant, SEOG Grant, Federal Direct Stafford Student Loan, Federal Direct PLUS, Federal Direct Graduate PLUS), during the semester in which they withdraw, the University will observe the federally mandated process in determining what, if any amount of money, must be returned to the federal program (s).

Refund processes:

Refunds are processed on a weekly basis.  Direct deposit is highly encouraged, you can enroll by logging into The Nest, go to the Tuition and Aid tab, under Payment Options and Information, click the link which states “Sign up for Direct Deposit for Tuition Account Refunds”.  You can enter your banking information directly.  Please be sure to double check your account and routing numbers are correct.  If they are not correct, this will delay the refund from getting to you.

If you would like to receive your refund via a paper check, please be sure your Permanent mailing address is updated in the system.
