Slow down at the museum and the arboretum this fall. Mindful Moments features a variety of activities and ways to engage–join us for a guided program or visit for a self-guided experience. Beginning September 2025. 

The Art of Presence: Self-guided mindfulness tour through the galleries
Experience the museum at your own pace with a guided tour centered around mindfulness and close-looking. Prompts and sensory experiences will allow you to slow down and view artworks from new perspectives. 

Available 7 days a week during regular business hours.

Mind Your Nature: Guided mindfulness workshops in the arboretum
Imagine a life where you live in the moment, with a sense of peace and fulfillment. Certified mindfulness coaches, Alyson Harris and Na’ama Yarden, will lead you through a 3-week program where you will learn to handle stress with more ease and calm as you discover a sense of purpose and wellbeing through mindfulness exercises and being in nature.

Creative Pause: Drop-In Art Workshops 
Join us for casual, drop-in art workshops all autumn. Focused on mindful art-making, these workshops are open to all–just stop by on select Thursdays for activities like collage journaling, origami, printmaking, and mandala design.

Visio-Divina: Sacred Seeing 
Join SJU alumna and artist, Becky McIntyre, through a guided-gallery reflection and art-making activity, using art as a tool for prayer to engage personal and collective spiritual wholeness.

Mandala Experience
Experience the intricate and meditative process of sand mandala creation over the course of a week with renowned Tibetan Buddhist scholar and artist Ven. Losang Samten. This sacred art form symbolizes the universe and the impermanence of life, inviting mindfulness and reflection. Visitors are welcome to observe the detailed work each day and learn about the cultural and spiritual significance of the mandala, as well as participate in its ritual dismantling Friday afternoon.

Yoga
Join us for all levels flow yoga in the peaceful setting of the museum—where art and mindfulness meet in perfect harmony.
