  • 12:00 p.m.:  Class of 1970 Golf Outing
    Location:  Bala Golf Club, 2200 Belmont Avenue Philadelphia, PA

     

    1:00 p.m.: Highlights Tour at The Barnes Foundation
    Location:  2025 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, Philadelphia, PA

    This one-hour tour is perfect for first-time visitors. Explore highlights of the collection and learn the history of the Barnes. Includes access to the collection and special exhibition before and after the tour.

     

    5:30 p.m.: Welcome Back Reception
    Location:  Bala Golf Club, 2200 Belmont Avenue Philadelphia, PA

    It's time to celebrate! Get reacquainted with your classmates and enjoy spirited conversation over cocktails and dinner.

    An interactive presentation by Joseph A. DiAngelo ‘70, Ed.D., Dean, Erivan K. Haub School of Business, on the events and times that shaped us and transformed our campus.

    11:30 a.m.:  Golden Hawks Induction Luncheon

    Class of 1970 will receive their Golden Hawks pin and certificate.

    1:30 p.m.: Campus Bus Tours
    Location: The McShain Parking Lot  (building #24 on campus map)

    Enjoy a bus tour of campus, highlighting the many changes over the past 50 years. Stops include:

    • Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center (Formally the Cardinal's Residence)

    Take time to relax in the hospitality area and continue conversations with your classmates.

    Join the Class of 2020 in celebrating their Baccalaureate Mass.

     

    6:30 p.m.: Memory Lane Celebration
    Location:  Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center | The Marcy Dugan Wolfington Campus (building #47 on campus map)

    Join classmates and their guests for conversation, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and light dinner stations as you “stroll” down memory lane at this celebration of your 50th reunion.

  • Dressed in your regalia, join your classmates and process with the Class of 2020 at Commencement.

    7:00 a.m.: Continental Breakfast and Robing for Commencement
    Location: Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center | The Marcy Dugan Wolfington Campus (building #47 on campus map)

    Continental breakfast will be served. Reserved parking available at this location. To ensure proper regalia for the procession, register before April 16.

    8:00 a.m. - Commencement Procession Begins

    We will process back to the Welcome Center as we conclude the weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Parking for those attending the Friday Morning faculty presentation:

    Mandeville Hall parking lot (next to building #1 on campus map).

    The entrance to this lot is located on 54th Street; make a right into the Mandeville Hall parking lot. We have reserved parking - when you enter the parking lot, mention you are with the Golden Hawks and they will direct you to our space. 

    You will be able to leave your car and be transported by the shuttle around campus for the day.


    Parking for those attending the Friday afternoon Luncheon:

    There are two options for those who are not attending the morning presentation, but are coming for the Golden Hawks luncheon.

    1. Park in the Mandeville parking lot and take the shuttle over (see above directions and this is recommended if you plan on staying for the rest of the day)You must be parked at Mandeville Hall by 11:15am if you plan on taking the shuttle.
    2. Park in the McShain Hall parking lot (next to building #24). The entrance to this lot is located off Lapsley Lane, which is off City Avenue. Make the second left and follow around to the parking spaces.

     

    Parking for those attending the Friday Afternoon Baccalaureate Mass and/or Memory Lane Celebration:

    Mandeville Hall parking lot (next to building #1).

    The entrance to this lot is located on 54th Street; make a right into the Mandeville Hall parking lot. We have reserved parking - when you enter the parking lot, mention you are with the Golden Hawks and they will direct you to our space. 

    For the Memory Lane Celebration, parking is available in the Cardinal Avenue Lot - near the corner of Cardinal and City Avenues.

     

    Parking Saturday:

    Parking is at the Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center (building #57) parking Lot off Cardinal Ave. Do not come from City Ave. Make a left/right onto Cardinal Ave from either Overbrook Ave or Wynnefield Ave (depending on if you are traveling North or South). Once on Cardinal Ave make a left into the driveway that leads you to the parking lot. Mention you are with the Golden Hawks to get through security on Cardinal Ave. Directions and a map are in the gift bags you will receive at the luncheon.

  • The 50th Reunion Weekend is a festive recreational event. Dress casually and comfortably.

    In past years, many alumni have chosen to wear a sport coat or jacket and tie for the class photo.

    Anyone participating in Saturday's Commencement exercises should wear light layers so they can adjust to temperature changes when they are seated with other Golden Hawks under the Curran Field tent during the graduation ceremony.

  • You should receive the printed invitation in the mail by late-February 2020. If you do not receive the invite by the end of March, please contact Lynn Langnas at (610) 660-3467 or llangnas@sju.edu.

  • We ask all participants to submit registration and payments by Wednesday, May 6 to ensure the quality and success of the 50th Reunion Weekend.

  • We strongly encourage pre-registration for all events to ensure proper space and meal planning. 

  • The bookstore will be open over the 50th Reunion Weekend and we will make a special stop during the campus tours. Hours are:

    • Thursday: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
    • Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
    • Saturday: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. 
  • Make Your Gift

    Your gift, regardless of designation, will count toward the totals announced at the Induction Luncheon. If you have questions or would prefer to submit your gift by phone, contact Maura Slatowski at (610) 660-1244 or mslatows@sju.edu.

  • Both your gift and the match your company makes will count in your Reunion Class Gift total. Be sure to contact your company’s human resources office prior to making your gift to determine whether or not your company matches. A company match is an excellent way to increase the value of your Reunion gift.

  • The Ignatian Society recognizes donors who have generously provided or plan to provide a gift to Saint Joseph’s University through bequests, trusts, and other life-income gifts.
