Overview

The Department of Allied Health offers degree programs in sonography, cardiovascular and surgical technology, nuclear medicine technology, radiography and respiratory care.

Associate

    Associate Degree in Cardiac Sonography Associate School of Nursing and Allied Health

    Saint Joseph’s University’s Associate Degree in Cardiac Sonography is designed for students who do not currently hold a college degree. Upon completion of program requirements, you will be eligible to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) and the ARDMS Cardiac Sonography (RDCS) board exams. You are also eligible to sit for the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Adult Cardiac Sonography (RCS) exam. As a graduate of the associate program, you will receive the preparation necessary to become an entry level cardiac sonographer or echo technologist in a hospital or outpatient center.

    Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology Associate School of Nursing and Allied Health

    Saint Joseph’s University’s Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology will prepare you for a career in treating ailments related to the heart and blood vessels. This program also offers the preparation necessary to take the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) exam which is required to become a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.

    Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Associate School of Nursing and Allied Health

    Saint Joseph’s University’s Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is designed for students who do not currently hold a college degree. Upon completion of program requirements, you will be eligible to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examinations in Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI), abdomen (Abdomen) and obstetrics/gynecology (OB/Gyn). As a graduate of the associate program, you will receive the preparation necessary to become an entry level general sonographer or ultrasound technologist in a hospital or outpatient center.

    Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology Associate School of Nursing and Allied Health

    Saint Joseph’s University offers the only Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology of its kind in Central Pennsylvania. This associate degree program will provide you with the skills and preparation necessary to become a successful nuclear medicine technologist. You will learn how to take diagnostic images of nearly every system within the body as well as how to operate sophisticated equipment to help doctors diagnose and treat illness. Upon completion of program requirements, you will be eligible to take the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) exam and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam.

    Associate Degree in Radiography Associate School of Nursing and Allied Health

    Saint Joseph’s University’s accredited Associate Degree in Radiography will prepare you for a career using X-rays to view tissues, organs, bones and vessels. Upon completion of program requirements, you will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam.

    Saint Joseph’s University’s accredited Associate Degree in Respiratory Care will provide you with the skills necessary to diagnose and treat pulmonary problems affecting the lungs. This program also provides the preparation necessary to sit for the Therapist Multiple-Choice (TMC) Examination and Clinical Simulation Examination (CSE).

    Associate Degree in Surgical Technology Associate School of Nursing and Allied Health

    Saint Joseph’s University’s Associate Degree in Surgical Technology will prepare you for a career assisting surgical teams throughout every step of an operation. You will receive specialized instruction, vast clinical experience and guaranteed clinical placements to ensure you have the preparation necessary to become a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).

    Associate Degree in Vascular Sonography Associate School of Nursing and Allied Health

    Saint Joseph’s University’s Associate Degree in Vascular Sonography is designed for students who do not currently hold a college degree. Upon completion of program requirements, you will be eligible to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) and the Vascular Technology Exam (RVT) board exams.
