Department of Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is a hands-on profession. Through Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Physical Therapy, your practical, hands-on clinical experience starts in year one. You’ll learn by doing with expert instruction from doctorally trained, clinically-certified specialists.

The Department of Physical Therapy empowers you to make a major difference as a movement specialist trained in evidence-based techniques that optimize patients’ function, health and wellbeing. We offer a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, which features an accelerated curriculum built on the Movement System Framework. The program prepares you to practice independently and work collaboratively in diverse healthcare environments. There are three pathways to Saint Joseph’s DPT:

Join us as an incoming first-year student and earn two degrees in under six years without having to re-apply.
Transfer into our undergraduate curriculum and enter the professional phase without taking GREs or re-applying.
After earning your bachelor’s degree, apply to the program and complete your doctorate in 31 months over eight semesters.
