Solid Tumor

The two-year Medical Communications and Scientific Exchange Fellowship in Solid Tumor Oncology at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine o!ers unique rotational experiences that enable the fellow to develop and apply skills across various roles, including Medical Communications, Scientific Communications, and Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Communications and other Medical A!airs functional areas as applicable. The fellow will gain valuable experience within the Solid Tumor Oncology franchise, contributing to both marketed and investigational therapies for bladder, prostate, and lung cancers. This role will involve evaluating scientific literature, creating and reviewing medical content, and helping to shape overall medical strategy. The fellow may also have the opportunity to support Medical Information booths at national medical conferences.

The First Year           

The fellow will hone skills in scientific literature evaluation, medical writing and review of promotional/proactive materials. Additionally, the fellow will develop and review content for a variety of audiences, including healthcare professionals, healthcare decision-makers, guideline developers and internal business partners. The fellow will analyze and interpret medical literature, author and review scientific responses as well as MSL resources (infographics, slide decks).

Second Year   

During the second year, the fellow will continue to be an active member of the Medical Communications and Scientific Exchange (MCSE) team, directly supporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives. The fellow will assist in preparing scientific materials and contributing to publication and conference planning e!orts. The fellow will also continue to help create scientifically robust content, including slide decks, infographics, and other medical resources tailored to HCPs andinternal stakeholders.

• In the Science Communications component, the fellow will assist in preparing and executing important scientific data releases, such as publications and conference presentations. They will work closely with internal teams to ensure these communications e!ectively convey key research findings.

• In the MSL Communications component, the fellow will gain experience in creating scientifically accurate and engaging materials for external healthcare professionals. This involves collaborating with Medical A!airs to craft slide decks, infographics, and other medical resources.

This 2-year position will provide the fellow with the following experiences within MCSE team, as well as potential rotations within Medical Affairs:
 

Medical Communications 

• Enhance skills in scientific literature retrieval, analysis, and communication.

• Improve scientific writing abilities by authoring balanced scientific response letters and product information.

• Provide medical review for scientific exchange and promotional materials.

MSL Communications

• Engage with Medical A!airs colleagues in the development of customer-facing scientific exchange materials, including slide decks, infographics, and other medical resources.

• Collaborate and lead vendor support for medical resources.

Scientific Communications

• Support the development and execution of key data releases, including publications and congress presentations.

• Collaborate with U.S. Medical A!airs teams across Field Medical and internal Medical A!airs on various ad-hoc projects.
