CITI Training for Saint Joseph's University Researchers: Compliance Overview
Mandatory Training Requirements

1. Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) | All SJU faculty, staff, postdocs, graduate, and undergraduate students are involved in research. | Within 6 weeks of starting research. | 4 years. Refresher required every 4 years. |
2. Care and Use of Animals | All SJU faculty, staff, postdocs, graduate, and undergraduate students involved in animal care, use, or treatment. | Before Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocol approval. | Contact ORS for renewal requirements. |
3. Conflict of Interest (COI) | All investigators on Public Health Service (PHS)-funded grants/contracts, and others required by ORS (e.g., existing conflicts, non-compliance). | Complete CITI COI training. | 4 years. Refresher required every 4 years. |
Completing Your CITI Training
- Access CITI: Visit https://about.citiprogram.org/. Log in or register. New users must affiliate with Saint Joseph’s University.
- Enroll: From the homepage, click "View Courses," then "Add Course." Answer the prompts to enroll in the correct Learner Group.
- Complete Modules: Start the course. Complete all required modules and quizzes, along with the necessary elective modules.
- Submit Report: Once finished, access your completion report via the "Print Report" link. Submit this report/certificate to the Office of Research Services (ORS).

- Monitor Expiration: Keep track of your certificate expiration dates to maintain continuous compliance.
