The Global Medical Affairs Post-Doctoral Fellowship in HEOR, Epidemiology and Statistics at Incyte is a two-year, full-time training program designed to integrate academic rigor with the applied, cross-functional nature of evidence generation in a global biopharmaceutical environment. The fellowship provides structured mentorship and hands-on experience in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, and real-world evidence (RWE) to support the development, evaluation, and communication of product value across the lifecycle. The program emphasizes publication quality work and real-world application of evidence to inform medical strategy, patient access, and external scientific engagement. 
 

A defining feature of our fellowship is the structured Global and U.S. rotation and multidisciplinary mentorship model, designed to provide formal exposure to both global and regional evidence generation. By working across global and U.S. teams, fellows build a rare, competitive skill set in evidence planning, stakeholder requirements, and real-world application of HEOR insights. The Fellow will be mentored by experienced professionals across key evidence-generation and medical functions, including HEOR professionals, Epidemiologists, RWE Statisticians and U.S. and Global Medical Affairs Professionals. The Fellow will work in a highly collaborative environment and gain exposure to how evidence is generated and applied across the organization.

Training Experiences:

Real-World Evidence & Epidemiology

• Design, analyze, interpret, and communicate findings from observational studies using real-world data sources (e.g., claims, EHR, registries, chart reviews)
• Develop study protocols and statistical analysis plans, applying best practices in epidemiologic methods
• Address real-world study considerations such as confounding, selection bias, missing data, sensitivity analyses, and generalizability
• Communicate results for internal strategy discussions and external scientific dissemination

Health Economics & Value Monitoring

• Build and/or adapt cost-effectiveness and budget impact models to quantify clinical and economic value
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess uncertainty and key drivers
• Translate model findings into clear, decision-relevant outputs for payer and internal stakeholders

Evidence Synthesis & Comparative Effectiveness

• Conduct targeted and systematic literature reviews within a disease, therapeutic area or treatment approaches
• Support indirect treatment comparisons and meta-analytic approaches when appropriate
• Synthesize evidence to inform product value narratives, strategic planning, and scientific communication

Patient-Centered Outcomes & PRO Research

• Support the design and analysis of patient-reported outcomes (PRO) data and quality-of-life endpoints
• Gain exposure to instrument selection, endpoint strategy, and psychometric concepts as applicable
• Translate patient-centered data into evidence that supports clinical and value messaging

Medical and Access-Facing Evidence Deliverables

Contribute to development of key evidence packages, including:

• Global Value Dossiers (GVD)
• AMCP dossiers
• Support abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and congress deliverables aligned with publication standards
• Collaborate with U.S. and Global Medical Affairs to align evidence generation with scientific communication plans 

Program Outcomes:

By successfully completing the fellowship, the Fellow will be prepared to:

• Design and execute robust HEOR/RWE studies informed by epidemiologic and outcomes research best practices
• Build and communicate economic models that support payer and policy-relevant decision-making
• Conduct evidence synthesis to inform comparative effectiveness and value narratives
• Integrate patient-centered outcomes evidence into broader product value strategies
• Deliver publication-quality outputs and contribute to dossiers and evidence packages
• Collaborate effectively across disciplines in a fast-paced, applied industry setting

Candidates should have a PharmD, PhD, or MPH (e.g., Health Services Research, Health Economics, Epidemiology, or related field), training and/or applied knowledge in HEOR methods, a strong quantitative foundation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
