Recruiting: 1 Position for a 2-Year Fellowship
The two-year US Medical Affairs fellowship in Dermatology at Johnson & Johnson offers a unique opportunity to gain experience launching innovative medicine and developing pipeline products. This role will sit on the US Medical Dermatology team focusing on products in development for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, working closely with medical matrix (MSL, Sci comm, training, publication etc) and cross functional partners (commercial, HEOR, R&D).
First year experiences:
In the first year, the fellow will directly support the launch of a product in dermatology. This medical affairs role at launch will be focused on scientific exchange and education, evidence generation, data dissemination, KOL engagement, and congress strategy.
Launch Preparation & Execution
- Support medical affairs strategy and execution for U.S. launch of a novel dermatology product.
- Execute the U.S. medical launch plan aligned with global strategy and work to support development of future plans
- Provide medical review and input into launch materials (training, scientific platforms, FAQs, advisory content).
- Support cross-functional launch readiness activities with commercial, regulatory, market access, and clinical teams.
Promotional Execution
- Designing multichannel campaigns for HCPs and patients that are compliant, scientifically accurate, and consistent across digital, conferences, sales tools, and educational materials
Scientific Education & Engagement
- Train and support the U.S. MSL team to ensure effective, compliant scientific exchange with KOLs and HCPs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dermatology thought leaders, professional societies, and academic centers.
- Organize and facilitate advisory boards to capture post-launch insights.
- Represent Medical Affairs at major dermatology congresses and symposia.
Evidence Generation & Dissemination
- Collaborate on publication planning and execution of pivotal trial data.
- Partner with RWE and clinical development teams on Phase IV/post-marketing studies to address evidence gaps.
- Support Investigator-Sponsored Study (ISS) proposals relevant to dermatology and real-world practice.
Medical Information & Safety
- Oversee development of standard medical information responses and resources for dermatology stakeholders.
- Partner with pharmacovigilance to ensure rapid assessment and communication of safety signals.
Second year experiences:
In the second year, the fellow will shift focus to earlier pipeline assets. The opportunity will work on researching new areas within dermatology, understanding unmet medical needs, and partner with the global medical/commercial team on market shaping and educational activities. The fellow will gain experience in the following key areas:
Pipeline Strategy & Early Development Support
- Partner with R&D, Clinical Development, and Global Medical Affairs to provide U.S. medical input into early pipeline strategy.
- Identify unmet needs and evolving treatment paradigms in dermatology to inform clinical trial design and evidence generation plans.
- Develop and maintain disease state and competitive landscape assessments to guide portfolio prioritization.
- Contribute medical expertise to early access, translational research, and biomarker strategies.
Scientific Engagement & Insights
- Establish and nurture relationships with U.S. KOLs, academic investigators, and professional societies to capture early insights on unmet needs and study design.
- Facilitate advisory boards and expert panels to shape future clinical development and medical strategy.
- Represent Medical Affairs at key scientific congresses to monitor emerging science and competitive activity.
Evidence Generation & Dissemination
- Support clinical trial design and endpoint selection with robust medical input.
- Collaborate on publication planning for early-stage data and ensure dissemination in top-tier journals and congresses.
- Partner with investigators on preclinical collaborations, investigator-initiated studies, and early real-world evidence opportunities.
Medical Affairs Infrastructure Development
- Contribute to building the medical strategic platform for dermatology assets in development.
- Assist in planning for seamless transition of assets from development to launch phases.
- Ensure medical governance and compliance in all early engagement activities.
