Overview

With a BA in Economics, a BS in Quantitative Economics, and a minor in economics, Saint Joseph's University's Department of Economics offers the opportunity to learn how economic considerations are everywhere, from small household decisions to major international disputes. A basic understanding of the principles of economics can shed light on a variety of disciplines such as mathematics, data science, finance, political science, public policy, sociology and history.

    Economics majors at Saint Joseph’s University will study how economic reasoning is used to determine how society can effectively meet its human and material needs. By analyzing buyer and seller behavior in various markets, students will be able to think like an economist and how they view the world in terms of problem-solving and decision-making.
